Week 29....

Well I am officially in the third trimester of pregnancy. I have felt great all summer and even after school started until the dreaded tooth grinding situation that started last Monday night. I grind my teeth while sleeping and have been for several years. Apparently last weekend I had a night time grinding fest and put myself into the most miserable pain I have ever been in Monday night through Thursday morning. I had to go to the dentist, get a TMJ splint/bite plate that takes me back to the retainer wearing days of high school so that I cannot grind my teeth. I have not been able to eat solid foods and have cried in excruciating pain at night. Thursday I took off work and slept all day and now I am starting to feel better, slowly. So, other than the toothache I have been in great standing. I am worn out after a day of teaching and cross country practice, but nothing I cannot handle. I am certainly ready for my baby boy to make his appearance. 11 more weeks or so I am guessing. That is a little frightening, but mostly I just feel excited. I plan to have a nice relaxing weekend reading, enjoying the nice weather, and sleeping.

First game of the season

We are so excited! Yesterday was the first game of the Brown's 2010 football season and AJ scored his first touchdown! It was awesome with a final score of 41-0, Browns over the Colts! Madison's cheerleading squad did an awesome job on their halftime routine. It was a great day. I wish I had taped AJ's touchdown on my camera had I known it was coming, Jeff was so cute jumping around on the sidelines. AJ is such a wonderful, humble young man, he calmly walked to the side lines and just let everyone give him fist bumps and high fives. You would have never known he scored by his reaction. He came home and was giving props to the line and their blocking so he could get in to score. He deserved it! He has been blocking for those kids for three years and finally he got to hear this over the loud speaker, " Touchdown scored by #69, Adam Brinegar!" Check out the pics and video.

It will be funny at my shower when I am opening gifts and saying, "Oh, ah, thanks," but thinking what the hell is this for! HA

Total confusion....

Ok, I don't get it. Why is it that when you are going to be a new mom and you are trying to create a baby registry absolutely everything seems to blow your mind. I just want a car seat. Why do I have to choose between eight hundred car seats and how do you know which is best? Also, why are there a gazillion different gadgets and bottles and bouncers and whatever the hell you call everything? I get so overwhelmed in about two minutes that I just give up and say hey back in the day none of this stuff existed and babies were just fine. So, I am calling on all you moms out there. What do I need? I mean absolutely need, what can I not live without? My friend Laura told me I need a boppy and a bumbo which I got from my neighbor so the "b" toys are checked off. Noelle told me about the bottle sterilizer, that is on the registry. Other than that I am lost, and I mean lost. Thanks

Beach, burdens, business, and it's a boy!

Well let's see.......
First our computer was blocking me out of blogger for quite awhile, but with our fantasy football draft under way we had to take care of it. Both this site and our draft site run through google, so it simply had to be accessible. Jeff made it happen, so we're back!

The beach was awesome this year. I was there for two weeks (from June 28 through July 12), one week with Patsy, one of my mother-in-laws, and the second week with Jeff, Vernon, Patsy, my Dad, Sher, Willy, Abby, Alex, my mom, and Odie. It was so much fun. My siblings purchased tons of fireworks that they put off and made the night very entertaining. There was a lot of laughter going on that was for sure.

Secondly, our summer honey-do-list of burdens is complete. We painted the basement, built a wall for AJ's room that is now in the basement, painted his new room, power washed and stained our deck and fence. Whew. It was a task, but we got it all done.

Jeff had surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee on the 22nd. He is doing well. Healing up quite nicely. I think once it heals and he is able to run, ride bikes, and play basketball again he will be so glad that the had it taken care of. He is at football practice right now, quite the trooper. He has also taken a new job at the regional detention center as the Post-D teacher. He is now an 11 month employee instead of a 10 month employee. He goes back to work August 2. That will definitely be different, but he is looking forward to the change.

And, we found out we are having a boy! I am very excited and Jeff is elated. Another football player in training. I hope he has red hair. We have to get the nursery ready, but that is fun stuff! All the names I like, Jeff dislikes and all the names he likes, I am not to fond of. So, I guess when he makes his appearance around Thanksgiving he will have a name.

Some long awaited photos

I have not posted any pictures for quite some time so I thought I would put some pics of Madison playing tee ball, AJ playing minor league, and the shirts I made for the kids to let them know they were going to have a baby brother or sister. The story behind the t-shirts is slightly amusing. I had them laying out on the table so when they got home from school they would see them. They both immediately noticed. AJ said, "Oh big brother," basically like hello, I already know I am a big brother. Then Madison picks hers up and is asking all kinds of questions: Why does mine say big sister; Who is a big sister; I don't get it, why does mine say big sister over and over again. Then AJ chimes in (by the way I figured he would get it immediately), "If Danielle ever has a baby you would be a big sister." So finally I had to say, "Maybe I am going to have a baby." Then they both smiled and that was that. Every day Madison asks me a lot of questions, but I still think it is not that real to them because I don't have a huge belly yet. They are truly excited though. Pretty cute.

We are super busy with baseball and tee ball and I told Jeff that this new baby is playing soccer because we spend way too much time at the ball fields. He laughed and said you wait.
